In Flight of the Navigator, a 12-year-old boy goes missing in 1978, only to reappear in 1986. In the eight years that have passed, he hasn't aged, not even a little. It is no coincidence that at the time he "comes back", a flying saucer is found, entangled in power lines, and we accompany the journey of discovery as we find out exactly what happened to young David Freeman.

A film beloved for its wild imagination and voice work, this is a film that is near and dear to our hosts' hearts. With the 1986 classic, Flight of the Navigator, on the shelf for a remake, how do we we think they should do it? You're about to find out, because it's time to Remake Flight of the Navigator RIGHT!

Clips selected from the 1986 film, Flight of the Navigator.

Based on Stephen King's novella, The Body, Rob Reiner's 1986 classic Stand By Me followed four childhood friends as they venture off to find a dead body laying somewhere along their local railroad tracks. The film centers around their friendship and offers up a heaping dose of 1950s nostalgia.

Now comes the time when we must take on what many consider a perfect film. How do you update such an iconic film and make it stand on its own? You're about to find out, because we're going to Remake Stand By Me RIGHT!

Clips selected from the 1986 film, Stand By Me.

Remake This Movie RIGHT! is a bi-weekly podcast where we take a classic film that is actively being remade by Hollywood studio execs, and craft our own version for a modern retelling. Does the story need updating? Should characters or motives be tweaked? Do we need more muppets? We take all factors into account, concoct our film, and then offer a Final Pitch to you in movie trailer form. By the end of each episode, we will Remake This Movie RIGHT!

Our show is broken down into three distinct parts:

The Original: We discuss the original film’s impact, some quick trivia bits, what worked the best from the film and therefore must remain in our upcoming remake, and what didn’t work or what needs to be changed for today’s audiences.

The Remake: We put together our movie! What story do we want to tell, how close to the original will it be, who will star, and ultimately who should direct our eventual cinematic masterpiece? Our hosts work together to put together one cohesive movie, but there is one caveat - Each host has one ‘CUT!’ throughout the episode to employ which could completely derail the entire film.

The Final Pitch: This is where we summarize our remake by utilizing the voice talents of voiceover artist Wayne Henderson and present our finished remake to you in movie trailer form!

Disagree with our picks? Want to submit a pitch of your own for our next teaser episode? Thoughts on this episode or suggestions for future episodes? Email us at RemakeThisMovieRight@gmail.com

Rachel Keller is a journalist investigating a videotape that may have killed her niece and her three friends exactly seven days after watching it. After watching the video herself, Rachel begins a nightmarish race to find the truth and ultimately beat death for herself and her son before fate's clock eventually runs out.

A Western reboot of 1995's Japanese classic, Ringu, The Ring is already a horror classic in many aspects. Director Gore Verbinski did a marvelous job translating the fateful tale of Samara and her terrifying well of death, and audiences were terrified. As we approach the upcoming 3rd American version of the story, RINGS, we decided it was time to lay the foundation and Remake The Ring RIGHT!

Clips selected from the 2002 film, The Ring.

In 1998, Marvel unleashed a new anti-hero upon the cinematic universe. Born after his human mother was attacked by a vampire, Blade was taken in my his mentor, Whistler, and trained to utilize his gifts in order to take down the vampire regime. Wesley Snipes was the living embodiment of the character, and after three films and a TV series, Blade's role in Marvel's Cinematic Universe has gone cold-blooded.

Half-man, half-vampire, all badass. It's time to Remake Blade RIGHT!

Logan's Run tells the story of a futuristic society confined to a domed city where all of your wildest fantasies can come true, as long as you are willing to sacrifice yourself on your 30th birthday. Those that refuse are known as Runners, and it up to the Sandmen, an internal police force, to bring them to justice. As Logan seeks out a hidden Sanctuary, he debates his own existence and sets off on a journey that will affect them all. 40 years have passed since the seminal classic hit movie screens, and the time has come to craft a more modern version.

Question: What kind of modern conventions or futuristic ideals do we incorporate into our film?

Question: Can we update the film without hindering the message?

The answers are here in our latest podcast as Jason Cabassi from The Walking Dead 'Cast and Troy Heinritz from The Blacklist Exposed join Aaron and update a classic. It's time to Remake Logan's Run RIGHT!

After a storm ravages a small town in Maine, David Drayton notices an ominous mist gliding in from the mountains across the lake. He decides to head into town with his son Billy and neighbor Brent for supplies. Once safely inside a local grocery store, The Mist reveals itself to be more than a weather anomaly, it is the harbinger of death. There are monsters in the clouds, a result of Project Arrowhead, and as the days go on - and as religious nut Mrs. Carmody fires up the crowd - things inside the store continue to escalate into one of the most polarizing endings of this century.

Stephen King's The Mist was adapted in 2007 by acclaimed director Frank Darabont, and will soon be reimagined as a television series. Therefore, it's the perfect time to dissect both the story and the film, modernize the concept, and even envision our own NEW ending for the controversial tale. It's time to remake Stephen King's The Mist RIGHT!
